Dayle Marie Christopher (Chronister)

Dayle was born to Karen Dale Ackerman and Warren Bernard Christopher, Sr. on Sunday, July 3, 1955, at 1:45 P.M. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Michigan City, Indiana. Dayle was brought home after three weeks in an incubator because she was born premature. Mom and Dad lived in the Cottage in Bethany Beach at the time but moved to the Sawyer house within a year.

Fall 1960 - Started Kindergarten at Chikaming Elementary School in Harbert, Michigan

Feb. 1964 - Moved to 1010 Broad Street, St. Joseph, Michigan

Feb. 1964 - 1970s - Attend First Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Fall 1971 - Played Girls Basketball at St. Joseph High School, St. Joseph, Michigan. Club Sport (Didn't have official "girls" sports then) Position: Center

Jan. 1973 - Married Jimmie Dale Chronister at Saran Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Michigan. Chris Nelson was her made of honor, Charlie Chronister was Jim's best man. Bernie, Larry and Tim Branson were ushers. Ruth Hill, Mom's friend, went to Saran Lutheran and help set up the connection to the Church.

Dayle's Gathering III: 8-16-2025 Click on the photos below to enlarge

Dayle and Jim held a family gathering of Christophers at their place on August 16, 2025. Pete, Lynn, Paul, Patty, Lee, Bonnie, Roy, Larry and Yvonne attended (the over 60 crowd 😁). It was another great time shared with all the Christopher aunts and uncles, except Ava. It was such a treat to listen to all the great stories, recollections and learn so much about our family. Thanks to everyone who made a special effort to attend. As with all Christopher gatherings, the food was plentiful and tasty. Thank you to Dayle and Jim for hosting and providing so much delicious food. Author's note: special shout out to Bonnie's awesome rice pudding, and Patty's incredible wild blueberry bread, it was the best I ever had.
